Students in kindergarten design digital sand art on their chromebooks! Super fun and a great way to practice fine motor skills on the trackpad. 

Students compete in the first ever OCPS Paper Wings Challenge!

Design a paper airplane that can stay in the air as long as possible! Students can attempt as many builds as they want over a 6 week span! 

Students designed their very own LEGO mosaic as we learned about different art forms. Mosaic art is popular in major cities like Philadelphia. This student designed a ghost for Halloween! 

Students designed Catapults as they learned about elastic force and step by step instruction manuals. These launchers were built from popsicle sticks, spoons and elastic bands. 

Students had an up-close look at local sea life from our very own bayside center. Students saw a green crab and a seahorse! SO COOL! Thank you Mr. Zammitt for letting us babysit the sea creatures! 

Students designed houses for Steve (Lego guy) who is a good friend of the 3 little pigs. Then they tested the strength of their homes against the big bad wolf...a giant fan!

Students designed "Doodles for Google" around the theme of kindness. Logan's design is pictured here. He shows kindness by thanking our firefighters. Awesome job! 

Student wrote a "verbs" poem and performed it in our green screen studio. Next students will learn to edit their video to change their background, add a title and incorporate music!

Kindergarten begins their coding unit during computer science education week! Today they wrote code to help BB8 the STAR WARS robot! Double thumbs up from this guy.  

2nd Grade collects information on their LEGO cars. Students weighed their cars in grams and organized the data using a Google sheet. Next students will race and time their cars to create a graph. 

2nd Grade engineers LEGO racers to determine whether heavy or light cars travel faster down a ramp. They used the engineering process: PLAN, BUILD, TEST, COLLECT INFO, MAKE IT BETTER!

2nd Grade designs holiday ornaments using computer assisted design. Students learn about geometric shapes, measurement, and rotations! They will be printed on a 3D printer...so cool!

3RD Grade students in LIfe 21 Club compete in the Wonder Workshop International Coding Contest! This year the contest is tied to recycling and waste.

Our PRE-K students were introduced to coding when they explored sequencing with our NEW Kod-a-pillars! Thank you PTA for your support.

2nd and 3rd graders compete on our final's board, a projected interactive robotics board. The board moves spins and glides as the students program their robots. 

Kindergarten made it's way to the LEGO lab for the first time ever! They learned about measurement, steps of design and most importantly teamwork! 

1st graders gear up for Mother's Day by designing their very own jewelry using CAD and our 3D printing fleet. A huge thanks to the Ocean City Education Foundation for our Lulzbot Printer! 

Congrats to Hannah and Delaney of Mrs. Libro's class! Their mission patch will fly to the International Space Station aboard mission 13! How cool is that!?

March madness coding tournament kicks off! Students program robots to move around a board and collect points. Angles measurement and estimation are crucial concepts in this coding game.

Students perform a reader's theatre for their parents in the studio! The play covers the revolutionary war and how our country was founded. 

The boys finish up the final section of the Seattle Space Needle. As you can see by the expression on their faces...they can't believe they actually got it to stand up!

Students demo our portable green screen for administrators and teachers at Techspo 2019. Our kiddos did an amazing job of explaining their knowledge and skills. 

First grade designs mother's day earrings using computer assisted design! This year students could draw a special picture and insert it into one hoop of the earring. Gigi drew a heart becuase "she loves her special person so much." 

OCPS presents at TECHSPO! Students showcased the OC TECH LAB and our projects at Techspo in Atlantic City. We were so excited to meet the Commissioner of Education!

Students are participating in the 2019 Doodle for Google Contest. This year's theme, "When I grow up, I hope..." Students have come up with some amazing ideas! WE LOVE GOOGLE! 

3rd grade students design their mission patches, one of which will actually fly to the International Space Station! SO COOL! Students learn about graphic design and layering images. 

1st grade learns the important stage of the design process...planning. Students here plan a LEGO-zip line using the stages of: PLAN BUILD TEST IMPROVE! 

Students proudly finish thier LEGO replica of the Willis (Sears) Tower. Next, Students will research the landmark in order to learn about the building's history, development and use.  

Third grade students create verb videos. Students wrote scripts using action verbs in order to create a short video clip promoting movement. Then, they performed their work in our production studio. 

Life 21 Club members design and build LEGO replicaas of famous city skyscrapers. They will be presented at this years TECHSPO in Atlantic City NJ!

2nd grade writes "about me" scripts and records introduction videos for their websites using our green screen!

Third grade students are designing their very own MInecraft zoo! Each animal needs a certain amount of area, so students are planning habitats using square units! 

First uses their coding skills to control our classroom robot Dash! Students learn about algorithms, bugs, debugging, loops and action commands. 

Students work together to research the International Space Station! Students learned about plagiarism and how to borrow information from other authors. 

Students design a module for our international space school! They designed and created their section using a LEGO budget.
