Why is STEM important?
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for STEM related occupations will generate 1 millions new jobs by 2020. This increase will add to the 26 million STEM related jobs already available in the U.S. job market today. It is important that our students acquire the necessary problem solving skills to fulfill these positions. Exposing students to STEM education in middle school will better prepare them for college and careers in STEM related fields and will allow them to be competitive in the global job market.
